Alex Rodriguez Shows Off His Stunning Florida Home — and Wait Until You See the Pool

When the Alex Rodriguez started looking for real estate a few years ago, he commuted between Manhattan and Miami Beach, where he had a waterfront home overlooking Biscayne Bay — for his new home, he wanted something a bit more secluded, he tells Architectural Digest in a new interview.

“Traveling as much as I do, what I really wanted was someplace peaceful, where I could rest and recover and be with my daughters,” the New York Yankees star says, of keeping his children — Natasha, 11, and Ella, 8, — at the forefront of the whole process.

His sister Suzy Dunand — who is conveniently a real estate agent — advised him to check out a space in Coral Gables, a quieter part of metr—opolitan Miami. After Rodriguez bought one and a half acres in 2003, he hired architects Ralph Choeff and Paul Fischman and interior decorator Briggs Edward Solomon to design something perfect for himself and his family.

“This house was the collaboration of a dream team,” says Rodriguez. Reflecting on the design process, he notes, “The words I kept thinking were long term. I kept imagining my kids rushing home from college for the holidays.”

And we have no doubt they’ll rush home — the space is serene, modern and, most essentially, equipped with a wet-edge pool, which is flanked with a barbecue cabana, lounge chairs and lush trees.

The 11,000-sq.-ft. retreat is just one story, Cheoff explains, because “Alex wanted to accentuate the indoor-outdoor feel.”

Looking at the gorgeous photos of his new home, we’re tempted to make a baseball pun … so we will. A-Rod hit this one out of the park.
